1. What is a Director Identification Number?

Director Identification Number (DIN) is an 8-digit Unique Identification Number allotted for becoming a Director in a Company. It contans all the details submitted at the time of obtaining such number like name, PAN and present and permanent address. Also, it is mandatory to communicate any change suhc information to Minsitry timely.

2. Whether a Non-resident individual who is a Director in a Company required to file Form DIR-3 KYC?

Yes, every Director whether resident or non-resident is required to get the KYC done

3. Whether non-resident directors can provide Indian phone number?

In case Director is non-resident, only foreign address and foreign number shall be allowed.

4. What are the documents required for the Indian director who lives outside India or a foreign director in India?

All supporting documents should be certified by the Indian Embassy or a notary in the home country of the applicant or by the Managing Director / CEO / Company Secretary of the company registered in India, in which applicant is a director. If a foreign director has a valid multiple-entry Indian visa or Person of Indian Origin card or Overseas Citizen of India card, then the attestation could also be done by Public Notary / Gazetted Officer in India or practicing CA / CS / CWA.

5. What are the consequences if KYC is not done?

DIN held by the dIrector shall be amade invalid. Also, a panalty of Rs. 5,000 would be levied for filing after due date.

6. Whether Govt. penalty is included in this service?

   No, it has to be paid the client separately as per communication by Teller.
